Multicultural education is education related to culture or "cultural diversity" that diversity is built not for a split but to unite the existing cultural entities. diversity is usually constructed from a plurality, diversity, and multicultural. The essence of multicultural is the willingness to accept other groups in the same way as a whole, regardless of cultural differences, ethnicity, gender, language or religion. Islam teaches peace and tolerance has been a long time, cultural differences, gender and so it is not a problem in Islam, the difference in Islam is only measured by the devotion and submission to the Deity, therefore the multicultural reinterpretation of Islamic education needs to be done.

The method used in this study is a qualitative method of data analysis and the interpretation of the object of study, and using descriptive analytical which contains analysis and interpretation of the meaning of data and objective representation of the phenomenon that in the response. The conclusion from this study is that the multicultural education and education related to the issue of Islam and modernity must be done by an Islamic point of view, education with Islamic perspectives based on al-Quran and al-Hadith and the correct interpretation. This perspective is important to have certainty and truthfulness. Besides, teachers as educators have a very important role in translating Islamic personality.Downloads
