Abstract

Optimisme berperan penting sebagai daya penggerak bagi individu untuk menjalani kehidupan. Konsep optimisme sangat lekat dengan ajaran Islam yang menuntut umatnya untuk senantiasa husnudzon, tidak mudah putus asa, dan tangguh. Upaya untuk mewujudkan karakter tersebut perlu ditanamkan melalui Pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini termasuk kedalam metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengambilan data melalui wawancara. Wawancara terstruktur digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan tahapan: (1) persiapan (penentukan topik, sumber data, dan peyusunan pedoman wawancara), (2) pelaksanaan, dan (3) pembuatan laporan hasil wawancara. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah tiga guru besar (Professor) di bidang Pendidikan Islam di tiga perguruan tinggi, yaitu UIN Salatiga, UIN Walisongo, dan UPI Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, optimisme dalam konsep Pendidikan Islam adalah khauf-raja’ dan tafaul. Khouf dan raja’ menjadi penciri Muslim untuk menjalani kehidupan di dunia ini dengan keyakinan kepada Allah yang dilandasi takut kepada Allah dan berharap hanya kepada Allah. Sementara tafaul merupakan kemampuan individu mengelola pikiran untuk senantiasa berpikir positif, berpikir rasional, dan berpikir obyektif dalam menjalani kehidupan. Landasan teologis menjadi pondasi pembentuk optimism dalam perspektif Pendidikan Islam dengan sumber utama dari Al Qur’an, Sunah dan tanzih. Implementasi optimism dalam perspektif Pendidikan Islam dalam layanan bimbingan dan konseling bagi mahasiswa dilakukan oleh dosen dan dosen pembimbing akademik
